1. Don't listen to society making us believe that we had the best time of our lives in our twenties.

I don't know about you, but my twenties were full of confusions, self-doubt about where to go next in life. Not feeling brave enough to leave a relationship that didn't work for me. Navigating through low key jobs, not being ambitious enough always aiming lower rather than challenging myself by fear of not being good enough. I feel much more confident as I advance in age, I know what I want and will not give any attention to negative people anymore. So Yes I do agree on this one with her. Do you? How do you feel now compared to in your 20s?

2. Maybe mistakes are what make our fate?

I can't even count the number of mistakes I've made in my life, would I be where I'm today without them though? What about you?

Yes sometimes, our life's feels like a big waste, making us think have I left it too late? No darling, you haven't! Get your Cinderella's shoes on and start running in the direction you want to go, don't let thoughts like I wish I didn't make so many mistakes in my life stop you. Can you go back to change anything? No! So go on move and look forward.

3. You have to let go of who you were to become who you will be

Isn't this one a beautiful one? You're no longer this girl in her twenties, a bit naive, full of romance, dreaming of this exciting future, maybe things haven't turned out as you wanted. Again stop beating yourself, and move on, look at the women you've become so strong and powerful, stop hiding, be bold, you're not in your twenties and thirties, you know what you want, you're more focused so go for it and don't be afraid to speak and show who you've become.

4. Take it or leave

Be more upfront with what you want or don't want anymore, you don't have to pull up with naysayers, negative people, or someone who wants you to change your personality for them!

Making comprises doesn't mean fitting a square into a round box. You want to be around people who lift you up, and celebrate YOU as you are!

5. Play with fire

Stop playing safe and challenge yourself, set yourself to a year of saying yes to everything that comes your way, even if you don't feel it's for you. Surprise yourself, go out of your way to meet more people, be more social if you're an introvert. Take a risk you've always wanted to take.

What Candace at nearly 60, teaches us through her life lessons to help us step into our power is not give a fuss about what others think of us, take more risks and move on instead of holding to the past. How will you apply these lessons?
